Bengaluru – As the number of COVID-19 cases rise within the city, most of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds in both government and private hospitals are filling up fast. The second wave of coronavirus has induced an alarming shortage of beds in hospitals and care centers, hindering people from procuring medi care facilities for COVID-19. In an effort to help the government of Karnataka plug this gap, Bosch Limited has converted it’s sports complex located at Adugodi campus into a Covid Care Center and handed over it to BBMP for the cause.
In line with Bosch’s commitment to work towards the benefit of the society at-large, Adugodi COVID Care Centre (CCC) houses over 70 beds and has qualified staff appointed by BBMP to treat and take care of the patients. The center offers round-the-clock availability of medical care, meals, beds, and internet facility. The facility is now officially open to both the general population, and immediate family members and/or direct dependents of Bosch India employees.
Recognizing Bosch’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19, Shri Ramalinga Reddy, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president said, “Bosch has done a commendable job in setting up its Sports complex in its Adugodi campus as a COVID Care Center. We are happy to see that Bosch India is helping the government contain the spread of infection as our country is battling against the second wave of COVID-19 infections. As this facility is now open to general public and Bosch employees, I request the people of Bengaluru to utilize this facility in times of need.”
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Soumitra Bhattacharya, Managing Director, Bosch Limited & President, Bosch Group in India said, “At Bosch, we have always kept the safety and security of our employees at the forefront. Coverting our Sports complex underpins our commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our workforce and the general population across the state of Karnataka. Until now, we have also distributed more than 4 million masks to our frontline workers produced at our fully automated production lines at our Naganathapura plant.”
